              Pros

              • ManagerLeague is a game which you can play freely. You won't also need to spend real cash.
              • The game has very good concept and we like the way of transferring footballers between managers.
              • There are detailed tactic and training options.

              Cons

              • The graphic of the game should be better. Generally football manager games have attractive looking.
              • The game could be available in devices except browser. An android or iOS application could be good.

Norwegian dev,  Fifth Season AS has published ManagerLeague Online Football Manager in 2003 and there are still more than 10.000 active teams on this game. You can play the game at any browser in any Operating System.

              ManagerLeague: Online Football Manager Gameplay

We have reviewed a few popular online football management games for you before. When we joined the ManagerLeague, we weren’t expecting much. However we have seen more than  we have expected from the game. ManagerLeague is providing some features which other similar games don’t provide for you. Some of these nice features:

Generally you need to sell your unwanted footballers to the game itself for nothing or very cheap prices on other football manager games. However you don’t have to sell your players to cheap prices on ManagerLeague. You can put your footballers in transfer list, you announce the transfer status of footballer to other players and wait for transfer offers. This is an awesome feature and we loved to see it on a manager game. Because we believe that player interaction is very important at online football manager games.

There is also many detailed tactical options on the game. You can choose the best tactic options for your team and use various of formations on your team.

There is also very detailed training options for you in the game. You can go to tours, join tournaments, use various tactical options during the training, etc.

The game developers Fifth Season AS has also developed AD2460 a few years ago. We just wish that ManagerLeague had a good graphics like AD2460.

The best online football manager, with more feature and options than any other similar game. Active devs, the game is still being improved almost monthly, and the community is very nice. A little dated on the graphics, but the gameplay is excellent!
2 league matches per weekday, player-cups, Champions League, League Cup, Super Cup, Training Camps, Stadium Upgrades, Staff, Coaches, sponsors, scouting, buying and selling of players, friendlies…This game has it all.

I play ManagerLeague, short: ML, for almost 8 years now.
For me it took a while to get into it.

The first seasons I was really learning the basics on how to train players, keep them fit, how to buy and sell players, how you can scout players and what ticket prices to chose to get a full stadium.
I started in division 4 where I competed with two other managers for the title, the rest of the teams where managed by bots.
There wasn’t much activity on the department forum but the fight against the other managers was exciting.
In my second season I was thrilled when I won the title. My players won the topscorer award and the best performing midfielder award.
I almost thought the game was too easy for me…
The next season I was in division 3 where other teams had much better players.
While I was more active than most other teams and kept my players fit, ultimately my team was relegated to division 4.

Next I learned more about improving your players by playing friendlies. This part of the game doesn’t really match with the real world, but works well as a game mechanic.
Back in division 4 I worked really hard on my team by playing friendlies, participating in player cups and organizing training camps.
I also bought a promising contract free attacker which almost got me bankrupt and my team deleted.
In the end my team did well and I won the title again in division 4. To my big surprise my team also won the End of Season cup where 128 teams competed.
The title and the End of Season cup came with a nice $$$ reward and I ended in the financial safe zone.
Back in division 3 I had a much better team and managed to end in 4th position. I was really proud, because it hadn’t been easy.

Then I learned about player potential and star rating, studied top teams to learn about tactics,
read blogs and guides. I sold some of my best talents to expand my stadium.
This structurally improved my stadium income and made buying even better talents possible.
To my surprise every season had its own challenges, ups and downs, felt unique. Every player had its own strengths and weaknesses,
most of which where known from the start, but some strengths I found out later, when I started reading my match reports.

To me, the best parts of ML are:
                – the match simulator 10/10: it’s perfectly balanced to a point where even if you lose the match you really wanted to win, you’ll accept
the outcome eventually, because you know if you just tune your tactics a bit more, position your players a bit better, perhaps
use a different formation or train your players a bit more you’ll get that win next time
                – the players 10/10: every player is unique, some players get more cards, some players shoot from distance, some players do bicycle kicks,
some players improve extremely fast, some players don’t improve at all, some players excel at free kicks or corners, some players
get injured more, some players hardly get injured at all, some players intercept passes better etc. etc.
                – the community 9/10: they will help you with any ML related question, even if it’s something that has been asked 1000 times before
                – the developers 8/10: although very busy with their regular jobs and life and their other game AD2460, they keep improving ML bit by bit,
almost every season, they do listen to suggestions when posted in the proper forum
and will implement a suggestion when it really adds value to the game, provided they can find the time

While I love this game I do think there are parts that can be improved.

Playing friendlies is the fastest and best way to improve your players in ML. You can buy credits to play friendlies or you can play free friendlies which requires you to invest time.
Playing free friendlies currently doesn’t always reward you with a friendly after waiting for 10 minutes.
I think this part of the game could be made more beginner friendly as not getting a free friendly multiple times in a row can become frustrating.

It can be quite hard for beginning managers to keep their finances sound. Having your team get deleted when you finish a season bankrupt is
something that can be a shocker. Some beginning managers like to buy older, high quality players. Some beginning managers train their players to high quality extremely
fast. Higher quality players have higher wages. If your team is too good for the division and the wages are higher than the stadium income in your division
you might run into financial trouble fast enough.

It would be great when at some point in time there would be an App for this game.

I like transfer format of the game. However you should use forums for that and it makes things harder to understand for newcomers. PtP transfer is still good though. I believe dev of the game is not caring for the game at the moment.
