The graphics may be outdated, and some of the UI clunky, but this game really delivers.
If you want a true combined arms MMOFPS with air, land and naval, WWII Online is a great game.
Once you get familiar with things, you’ll find no shortage of trouble to get into. It’s the only game I’ve ever played where if you wanted to, you could simply jog from Germany to Calais, swim the channel and go to Britain.
It’s that big.
It’s also the only game I’ve played that if you get hit with a rifle bullet in the torso… you die. You know… like what really happens when a .303 round hits your chest at 2000FPS? Yeah. That. No “walking it off” or sustaining ten rounds, or even three.
You will find no bunny hopping double tappers here.
If you get bored with infantry, drag an anti tank gun out or ask around to see who it doing that sort of op. It’s big fun to ambush armor and enemy aircraft. Really a blast!
You don’t like AT/AAA? Go grab a tank.
No need to say what fun those are. Get with a group of tanks on an assault and run like a wolfpack, wrecking peoples’ arses. Good times!
Oh, you’d rather not get mud or grease on your nice uniforms?
Well, hop in a plane, you dandy.
Some of the best and most adrenaline-provoking moments in this game happen in the air.
What a rush.
The modelling is really good regarding physics, though the HE is currently weak. There is a patch scheduled to directly follow the Steam launch.
Cheers!
Come check it out.
